A promising experiment...

Brief results:
  • The january sun of Palma is gives sufficient enrgy to burn paper/produce heat.
  • A sundial/gnomon helps to adjust the mirror exactly to the sun and avoid that concentrated solar light can harm the eyes.
  • The focus of this mirror is at 20cm distance from its surface.
  • A well polished surface seems to increase the reflected energy a lot.

January 8th 2012:

Searching the internet on my project I have found a real lot of informations about producing free energy at home. The most relistic project for me seem to be a solar cooker.
About two facts I am certain:
  • There is no need to buy a book for 19,95$
  • The magnetic home energy generator will not work!
The best cooker for me seems to be a solution from the  Solar Cookers World Network. Meanwhile searching for a used parabolic I started to test around with a cosmetic mirror...
But before of all I put on some sunglasses! You have to be very careful with the rays (as well with sunglasses on). The solar superpowers - be careful with them.
An improvised gnomon resulted to be a surprising great help in adjusting the mirror exactly to the sun and protect the eyes. It's astonishing how fast the planet we live on is moving.
After adjusting the mirror I burned a piece of paper - most surprising, isn't it?
Though for the following experiments I have to keep an eye on the microstructure of the reflector's surface. It seems to be very importantant.
Some tests in summer with aluminium foil (which I never could stand) showed that many sun rays are reflected to the wrong direction, do disturb and don't heat up anything. I want a solid barbecue grill for my windy balcony...
